Tuesday 13 June 2017 Kythera Island
As in my previous post I missed the tour bus this morning. We decided we were going to have a quiet day. I decided to go for a walk around the little harbour town and get some personal supplies, razors, shaving cream and a t-shirt for Dea to make wearing the brace more comfortable.
Not a lot here for the shopper, but if I’d caught the bus it would have taken me to the main town on the island. Two mini marts and only one sells t-shirts. Bought the shaving gear in one and then checked out the other. They had t-shirts but they were still in the delivery boxes. Found Dea’s size, the designs are all the same, a picture of Santorini with Kythera and the Greek Islands printed on them. It is only to wear under clothes.
Went around taken a few photos of the very quiet delightful place with a pebble beach. The water here is so clear.
Back to the boat for another wonderful meal. This afternoon both of us have a ‘nanna’ nap, we didn’t get a lot of sleep last night with tne heavy swell.
This evening we need to get dinner for ourselves. Chose a delightful little place overlooking the bay. Not too far to walk. The price certainly seemed reasonable to me.
After dinner we’re back on the boat and we’re sailing towards Monemyasia, the first stop on the mainland since this criuse started. A couple hours into the trip we pull into a quiet bay and get to swim off the back of the in the Adriatic Sea. A nice dip in the warm sea will be nice, it’s cold but nice and refreshing. I stayed in for about 20 minutes. After about an hour we’re on our way again. We’ll be docking in Monemyasia about 9 pm. We both asleep well before them.
