Saturday 1 July 2017 Nuremburg
Last night we left the Danube River and entered the Main – Danube Canal where we climb the Continental Divide and then down the other side to Main River. We will be passing through 16 locks in the next 2 days.
We crossed the Continental divide around 7 this morning. How do we know that? well they put in a monument to indicate its position. I wasn’t up early enough to take a picture but here’s one I found on the internet.
Nuremberg for us was always going to be a rest day so we stayed on board all day. But we had a Guest lecturer to tell us about the history and construction of the Main – Danube Canal. Some really interesting stuff and we even bought his book.
Tonight was our second turn at the Chef’s Table Restaurant. Not as good as the first time. The tastes were a little bland.
